The garden / Today

The garden today

Renewed yet recognisable: the same green corner in the heart of Baku.

The garden of our days

A new look, the old spirit

In recent years the Molokan Garden has undergone reconstruction: new paved paths, renewed lighting, neat flower beds and greenery have appeared. But the main things remain — the fountain, the plane trees and the atmosphere of old Baku.

The garden is still in the very centre of the city, a few minutes' walk from Fountains Square and Nizami and Khagani streets. It is easy to drop in during a walk.

For locals and guests it is a convenient green pause in the middle of the busy centre — to sit in the shade, listen to the water and feel the rhythm of Baku life.

01

Reconstruction

The garden was renewed: paths, greenery and the fountain were put in order while keeping the historic character of the place.

02

New alleys

Smooth paved paths, modern lighting and comfortable rest areas have appeared.

03

In the city centre

The garden remains in the very heart of Baku, surrounded by old houses and lively streets.

04

Near the centre

From here it is a few minutes to Fountains Square, Nizami street and other points of the centre.

05

A green pause

An ideal place to rest while walking through the city — shade, water and quiet.

06

Spirit preserved

Despite the renewal, the garden has stayed recognisable and beloved — the same old Molokan.

Old and new

A careful renewal

The reconstruction did not erase history: the garden became tidier and greener but kept its plane trees, its fountain and its folk name. Old and new live here in peace.

So the Molokan Garden lives on — as a bridge between the past and the present of Baku.

“The garden was renewed, but the name was left untouched — and that is all of Baku: to change while staying itself.”jnews.az
